Amahl and the Night Visitors

Jan

Amahl and the Night Visitors tells the heartwarming story of Amahl and his mother. When three magnificent and weary Kings following a wondrous star knock on their door and request a night’s lodging, the impoverished mother and son welcome them in. Through their interactions with the Kings, Amahl and his Mother confront themes of poverty and sacrifice.

With beautiful melodies and a poignant story sung entirely in English, Amahl and the Night Visitors is a moving reminder that kindness and generosity are the greatest gifts of all. Ideal for all ages, including children.

The Duluth Community
Jazz Band

Whiplash, Casablanca, Austin Powers, and even A Charlie Brown Christmas are all examples of the deep history of big band jazz showing up in film and also share the distinction of being movies we’re playing tunes from in the Duluth Community Jazz Band’s winter concert.

DCJB is made up of passionate, talented community musicians who are your friends, neighbors, and coworkers that want to play high level music but not as a profession. Don’t let the word “community” fool you – this band can really swing.

This concert was made possible by a generous grant from The Depot Foundation and is free of admission asking only for a charitable donation to support community music if you are able.
